The Black Family Community Forum
Margie and Steven Black believe in the power of big ideas and great conversations. And they want to have a platform in Greenwich for the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and cultural enrichment – which is why they decided to establish The Black Family Community Forum. Chief among Margie and Steven’s goals for this initiative is to appeal to a broad audience and engage a wide swath of local demographics.
The Black Family Community Forum was established to honor the memory of Susan and Eliot Black, z”l, Steven’s beloved aunt and uncle, themselves philanthropic supporters of Jewish Greenwich and beyond.
Dr. Daniel Gordis was previously selected as the inaugural speaker in 2024 for this community forum. The author of twelve books, Dr. Daniel Gordis is Senior Vice President and Koret Distinguished Fellow at Shalem College. Gordis’ history of Israel, entitled Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn, received the 2016 National Jewish Book Award as “Book of the Year.
