Israel Connect Volunteers
Provide Disadvantaged Youth With an Academic Edge
Israel Connect is a mentor program that pairs an English speaking adult with a teen (9th or 10th grade) in Israel who needs extra help in learning English. Knowledge of English is often the difference between getting a job and getting a GREAT job, or getting into college.
Israel Connect volunteer commit thirty minutes each week from their own home, sometime between the hours of 7 AM and 10:30 AM on a day of their choice, from Sunday through Thursday. Volunteers receive a complete curriculum, a teacher training program and video conferencing platform. No teaching experience is required. A coordinator and support team are available for troubleshooting, and substitute teachers can be arranged, in advance.
In order to make this innovative program possible, volunteers contribute $400 each year, while matching funds are donated from the Ministry of Education in Israel.
