How is the sacred reflected in visual traditions? Let's survey the art history of biblical motifs including Adam and Eve, the sacrifice of Isaac and Lot’s daughters, as depicted by Jewish and Christian artists. We'll look at how makers of both faiths use Last Supper and Crucifixion iconography to comment on contemporary Israeli issues, and analyze anti-Semitic images across centuries to decode their implicit messages.
Lunch & Learn is a weekly program, every Thursday from 12:30 – 1:30 pm. The Lunch & Learn program is generously sponsored by Rita Edelston.
