Water references have flowed freely for Jews since the opening verses of the Chumash: “The Earth was formless and void, with darkness over the deep, and the Spirit of the Divine hovered over the water.” Where did that H2O come from? Water not only is our planet’s most essential resource, but also the most destructive (unless you’re Noah!). We will dip into the ocean of hydro-Judaism and immerse ourselves in water’s metaphoric relationship to Jewish tradition.
