On Chanukah, we lit candles to commemorate the kindling of the Temple menorah that was miraculously fueled for eight days. Although the Temple was later destroyed and the menorah looted, their memory endures. We will take a virtual tour of the Temple by studying its architectonics. Next we will conduct a textual excavation to recover the Temple ideal from among the shards that remain--while paying special attention to the menorah, one of our tradition's most potent symbols.
